School Governors

Dedicated support is provided to all governors in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Governors are one of the largest groups of volunteers promoting learning opportunities, encouraging the children and young people of the Authority to reach their full potential.

Rhondda Cynon Taf has 102 primary, 16 secondary, one middle school and seven special schools/Pupil Referral Units. Governors play a vital role in the life and work of our schools, and this is recognised throughout the education system. The 'Becoming a School Governor' document will explain in detail the role and responsibilities of school governors.

Training courses and opportunities are offered with no cost to governors.

In becoming a governor, our children & young people, Head teacher & Staff, parents and communities will certainly benefit from your commitment.

If you require any further details or would like an informal discussion with a member of our team, please contact
